ASSE Holding Annual Poster & Video Contests

ASSE is accepting submissions for the NAOSH Week poster and video contests. Both contests have the following prizes:

  • First place: $1,000;
  • Second place: $500;
  • Third place: $250.

Both contest promote the importance of workplace safety and the OSH profession. The NAOSH Student Safety Awareness Art Contest is open to children ages 5 to 12. There are four age groups: Group 1, ages 5 and 6; Group 2, ages 7 and 8; Group 3, ages 9 and 10; and Group 4, ages 11 and 12. The winning artwork will be selected based on how well the artist expresses workplace safety in his/her poster. Contest winners will be announced in early April.

The NAOSH Student Safety Awareness Safety Video Contest is open to kids ages 13 to 18, worldwide. There are three age groups: Group 1, ages 13 and 14; Group 2, ages 15 and 16; and Group 3, ages 17 and 18. Five finalists will be selected from each age group and will be posted to ASSE’s social media outlets for online voting. Voting to determine the top three winners in each age group begins March 23, 2015, and ends April 5, 2015. Each person will be limited to one vote. In the event of a tie, qualified individuals will judge the tied entries. Winners will be announced in early April. Here are the criteria required for each video:

  1. Creativity and originality: The video offers fresh, creative and engaging take on why the world needs more OSH professionals.
  2. Message: The video promotes the benefits of occupational safety and might inspire others to become OSH professionals.
  3. Impact: The video should be persuasive and memorable.
