ASSE Hosts Safety Management Program Symposium in Denver

ASSEweb_960x225On Oct. 23-24, ASSE will host the Energize Your Safety Management Program Symposium, sponsored by SafeStart, in Denver, CO.

The symposium is designed for safety professionals looking to reengineer their safety management programs or implement new strategies and techniques to increase results in occupational safety and health.

Frank White, president at ORCHSE Strategies LLC, is the event’s keynote speaker. In a presentation likely to touch on the opportunities ahead for a safety profession that in some ways is “losing ground,” he says, “Some exciting developments offer the promise of significant workplace safety and health improvements ahead. If the safety profession can leverage, adopt and be sponsors of new trends and developments, we have a chance to see significant advances in safety and health.”

Also conducting a session at the symposium is Terry Mathis, CEO of ProAct Safety Inc. Mathis will be presenting “Rethinking Behavior-Based Safety.” He will discuss alternative methods that use fewer resources and less expense with more efficiency. “This isn’t about how to get from bad to good, this is about how to get from good to great. A lot of companies and organizations are in that boat, and I think this is a conference for them.”

Additional speakers include Marc A. Rosen, Ph.D., P.Eng., professor of engineering and applied science, University of Ontario Institute of Technology; Joel M. Haight, Ph.D., P.E, associate professor of industrial engineering, University of Pittsburgh; and ASSE Past President Kathy A. Seabrook, CSP, CFIOSH, President of Global Solutions Inc.
