ASSE Kuwait Chapter’s GCC HSE Excellence Awards Recognize Local HSE Business Successes

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAASSE’s Kuwait Chapter’s Gulf Cooperation Council HSE Excellence Award Program recognizes leadership, excellence and encourages exceptional performance in private-sector companies in health, safety and environment (HSE), within the Gulf Region. The primary objective of the evidence-based award is to recognize successful business models from organizations that uphold HSE as a business value and excel in performance. The chapter implemented the award program in 2009, and presented the 2016 GCC HSE Excellence awards at its May 2, 2016, presentation ceremony at Hilton Resorts Kuwait. About 42 companies participated in the program this year, and 66 awards were presented. (Visit the Kuwait Chapter website to learn this year’s recipients.)

The Kuwait Chapter has the capacity to support different areas of interest in promoting and addressing HSE issues through technical knowledge to community outreach, HSE trainings and professional development. Further, the chapter believes that a closer relationship between the industrial sector and ASSE, especially in the area of recognition of HSE performance, will help improve HSE practices throughout the region, especially in Kuwait. The HSE Excellence awards are presented under different categories such as engineering and construction; manufacturing; oil and gas; and facility and maintenance.
