ASSE Members to Speak at HSE Excellence Europe

BAEN73_P_info[1] 1A handful of ASSE members are scheduled as speakers and/or panelists at the upcoming 8th Annual HSE Excellence Europe, May 20-22, in Vienna, Austria. The 3-day event will bring together senior global executives to discuss strategies for safety and health performance, management commitment and safety culture. It will focus on industry case studies and best practices, roundtable discussions, panel debates, workshops and interactive sessions.

ASSE members scheduled to speak at the event include:

  • Walter Eichendorf, president, German Road Safety Council and deputy director general, German Social Accident Insurance. Eichendorf, an ASSE international member, will present a keynote address, “Vision Zero: For a Safer and Healthier Future.”
  • Darryl C. Hill, Ph.D., CSP, global director, health and safety, Johnson Controls Inc. Hill, ASSE’s 2010-11 president, is a professional member of the Greater Detroit Chapter. He is also on the event’s advisory committee and will lead a keynote debate titled, “The Impact of Sustainability on Safety & Health.” He will also present a session titled “Environmental Management Systems: What Is the Big Deal?”
  • Subash Ludhra, managing director, Anntara Management Ltd., immediate past president of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. Ludhra is an ASSE international member and also on the event’s advisory committee. He will be a panelist during the Executive Plenary session “Strengthening Organization Resilience Through World-Class HSE.”
  • Ismail Mataqi, team leader of HSE, Kuwait Oil Co. Mataqi is a member of ASSE’s Kuwait Chapter, and he will deliver the session “Best Practice: The Journey of Safety Driving in Kuwait Oil Co.”
