ASSE Recognizes 2014 NAOSH Week Champions

Each year, ASSE encourages members to get involved in NAOSH Week in an effort to spread awareness and better educate the public on the positive benefits workplace safety provides not only workers, but their families, friends, businesses and local communities. This year, two members who went above and beyond to help promote NAOSH Week and Occupational Safety and Health Professional Day were recognized with a NAOSH Week Champion Award at Safety 2014.

JohnsonRay Johnson, MS, CHSP, CUSA, EHS manager of HP Hood, in Oneida, NY, held multiple events each day during NAOSH Week. These events included CPR Training, Confined Space Rescue, Ergonomics, Trenching Safety, a Site Tour of HP Hood, as well as a Proclamation from Oneida’s Mayor. Johnson is a member of the Central New York Chapter.





Jablon_convertedSteven E. Jablon, CSP, the regional safety manager of Coca-Cola Refreshments, created a NAOSH video highlighting his family’s personal experiences from past and present NAOSH events. He then shared that video with 70 teammates at Coca-Cola, who collectively provide EHS expertise to the entire North American network for Coke. Jablon is a member of the Central Texas Chapter.
