ASSE Supports Safe+Sound Week 2018

Safe+Sound Week 2018, a nationwide event that raises awareness of the value of OSH programs, is slated for Aug. 13-19. This second annual safety week is intended to help improve understanding about the core elements of those programs: management leadership, worker participation and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards in the workplace.

ASSE supports this event along with other groups including AIHA, CPWR, NIOSH, NSC, OSHA and VPPPA.

The campaign aims to improve awareness that safe workplaces are sound business, and that successful safety programs can identify and manage workplace hazards before incidents occur, improving an organization’s efficiency and sustainability.

To participate, organizations plan activities that include core elements of a successful safety and health program. Whether the organization chooses to make the event public or private, as long as it promotes safety and emphasizes its importance in the workplace, participating organizations receive a certificate and web badge.

Organizations are invited to join the event and show their commitment to safety and the practice of it in the workplace.
