Board of Certified Safety Professionals Awards Four ASSE Members

Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) hosted its Award of Excellence ceremony during Safety 2015 in Dallas, TX. The ceremony recognizes OSH practitioners who best represent certificants’ outstanding leadership, expertise and professional commitment. This year, four ASSE members were honored: Margaret Carroll received the Lifetime Achievement Award; Michael Larrañaga received the CSP Award of Excellence; David McKinney received the OHST Award of Excellence; and Clinton Wolfley received the CHST Award of Excellence.

Carroll_WebMargaret M. Carroll, P.E., CSP, is president of Margaret M. Carroll Consulting Co., providing consulting services in OSH systems, risk assessment and management. Carroll was formerly the manager of safety engineering at Sandia National Laboratories, served as acting area director for OSHA in New Orleans and New Mexico, and was employed as a safety engineer at The Boeing Co. on the NASA Apollo Project. She is an ASSE and BCSP past president, and an ASSE Fellow.

 

Larranaga_WebMichael D. Larrañaga, Ph.D., P.E., CSP, is a principal consultant with Ramboll Environ, a global EHS consulting firm. He serves on the Board of Scientific Counselors for NIOSH, as a member of the Department of Homeland Security First Responders Advisory Group and as a director of the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.

 

 
 

McKinney_WebDavid E. McKinney, OHST, has more than 17 years’ experience as a division safety, health and environmental manager for the Concrete Pipe Division of CEMEX, a leading global supplier of building materials. During his diverse career, he has worked in law enforcement, personnel administration, environmental consulting and engineering. He is a proud native of the “billion dollar coalfields” of Logan County, WV, and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

 
 

Wolfley_WebClinton T. Wolfley, CSP, CHST, STS, is the safety and health manager for Washington River Protection Solutions, a prime contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington. Wolfley received the VPP Innovation Award in 2013, and was an honorable-mention selection for ASSE’s 2014 Award for Innovation in Occupational Safety Management.
