Capital Safety & ASSE’s Mt. St. Helens Section Hold Fall Protection Training

Capital_1As part of ASSE’s safety outreach mission, the Mt. St. Helens Section (serving Southwest Washington) of the Columbia-Willamette Chapter sponsors a professional development course each year. With the support of Capital Safety, Clark County Public Works and Safway Services LLC, the section was able to sponsor a 2-day fall protection competent person training class May 12-13, 2015. Taught by Capital Safety representatives, attendees learned practical solutions to difficult fall protection challenges using appropriate tools and equipment. In addition to class lecture, the course included hands-on exercises and both written and practical pass/fail examinations. The training was held during OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down, May 4-15, to raise awareness of preventing fall hazards in construction.
