Central Florida Chapter Participates in Teach In Event

ASSE Central Florida Chapter members from Walt Disney Parks and Resorts recently participated in the 2017 Great American Teach In.

Focusing on educating children about professional careers, this event invites members of the community into different schools for a day to teach, share stories, organize an activity or read to the class. Whether a participant stays for an hour or the whole day, community members can share stories about their careers with students.

The Central Florida Chapter has participated in this event for 7 years, bringing knowledge of the safety profession to young students. The members who attended this year include Ken Motsenbocker, Gabbie Pace, Michelle Glasgow, Chris White, Heather Earl and Todd Beach.

More than 270 students participated in the presentations held by the Central Florida Chapter members, and many expressed interest in becoming future safety professionals, according to Heather Earl. The presenters utilized ASSE Safety Suitcase materials as well as Disney’s Wild About Safety videos and lesson plans to give students an idea of the importance of safety professionals.
