Duane Grange Featured in Oregon OSHA Publication

Duane_Grange_110x150ASSE member Duane Grange was recently featured in Health and Safety Resource, Oregon OSHA’s online publication. In a Q&A, Grange discusses his professional background, personal experiences and his involvement in the Oregon SHARP Alliance. Grange has served as the safety director for Selectemp Employment Services in Eugene, OR, since 1995. Prior to that, he worked as a logger in the timber industry where her got his start in safety.

Grange discusses tragedies he witnessed in the timber industry and explains his mission to protect workers from those fates. He has been recognized in the past for his leadership and service as well as his dedication to safety and health. In 2005, Grange led Selectemp to become the first staffing service to successfully participate in OSHA’s Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP). The SHARP Alliance is a nonprofit organization comprised of Oregon employers that currently hold SHARP or VPP status, companies working to achieve SHARP or VPP certification, and individuals who want to promote workplace safety and health. He assisted Oregon OSHA to develop co-responsibility guidelines for staffing services and host employers and continues to help provide those services through his organization.
