ASSE Foundation (ASSEF) has received an inaugural grant of $25,000 from the UPS Foundation for its newly established Family Scholarship Fund. Announced at Safety 2013 by former Assistant Secretary of Labor John Henshaw, the fund provides educational financial assistance to families who have lost a loved one in a workplace incident. This initial grant is an important step in establishing the Family Scholarship Fund, which Henshaw explains will help minimize the loss suffered by those who have lost a family member due to a workplace fatality.

ASSEF is accepting applications through April 15, 2014. If you, or someone you know, can benefit from this program, visit the website to learn more.

In addition, the UPS Foundation donated $35,000 to ASSEF’s academic scholarship fund. Those scholarships emphasize safety and diversity by creating opportunities for students who wish to study in occupational health and safety field.
