Mohamed Khalaf Wins 2015 MGAM Campaign

The grand-prize winner of ASSE’s 2015 Member-Get-A-Member (MGAM) campaign is Mohamed Khalaf. In 2015, he referred 13 new members, for a total of 21 members referred since joining ASSE in 2009. For his efforts (and with a little luck), he has won a free trip to Safety 2016, June 26-29, in Atlanta, GA.

ASSE: Why did you join ASSE?
Mohamed: Any OSH professional must attach him/herself to a professional community, and ASSE is the strongest, best and oldest community worldwide.

ASSE: As a global member, what are the biggest benefits you receive from membership?
Mohamed: I am able to connect and meet with local and global OSH professionals. I have access to a community that makes me feel like I have a solid resource that I can consult or ask for any help at any time. And, ASSE allows me to shape my career through  the chapter’s technical meetings and networking. Plus, Professional Safety journal and the Body of Knowledge are like a treasure.

ASSE: Why do you refer your colleagues to ASSE?
Mohamed: I feel it is a duty to refer my colleagues so that they can receive the same benefits that I do. When one of them takes a step forward, then he will guide me to follow him. So the knowledge will continue spreading, and more people and property will be safe.

ASSE: What are your feelings about attending the Safety 2016 conference?
Mohamed: I am very happy and enthusiastic. I cannot imagine all the positive energy and experiences that I will gain after meeting my fellow safety professionals. I am also looking forward to meeting in person all the ASSE staff with whom I communicate.

ASSE: What would you say to encourage fellow members to participate in the Member-Get-A-Member program?
Mohamed: When you refer a member, you not only help by engaging him/her in such a great community but also you gift that colleague with a free webinar. It is such a great feeling when you help others take the next steps in their careers.
