ASSE Introduces Its New NAOSH Week Art Contest

ASSE’s NAOSH Week Student Safety Awareness Art Contest is now open for entries. Formerly known as the Safety-on-the-Job kids’ poster contest, the competition invites children ages 5 to 12 to submit artwork that illustrates workplace safety. New this year is a video contest for teenagers ages 13 to 17. This addition is designed to encourage older students to submit short videos expressing workplace safety.

Applications for both contests will be divided into groups according to age so that children compete only against others of a similar age. First-, second- and third-place prizes will be awarded, ranging from $125 to $500. Entries must be received by Jan. 31, 2014, for consideration.

NAOSH Week, also known as North American Occupational Safety and Health Week, takes place annually during the first week of May and has the mission of increasing awareness of the importance of occupational safety and health to workers around the world.
