NAOSH Week Is May 4-10

Naosh_logoNAOSH Week 2014 is next month. Are you ready? ASSE has lots of ideas for you, as a member, and your chapter to participate in NAOSH Week with your community, colleagues and workplaces. In addition, ASSE has two major events taking place:

  • Sunday, May 4: Kennedy Space Center, Orlando, FL. ASSE is hosting a public celebration for the winners and participants of the ASSE Student Safety Arts Contest. Posters were drawn by elementary school children and videos were produced by high schoolers. The day includes a tour of the space center, a discussion on workplace safety with a NASA professional and a private lunch with an astronaut and an awards presentation. Be sure to check the NAOSH Week website for the art and video contest winners.
  • Wednesday, May 7: National Press Club, Washington, DC. ASSE is hosting “The Human Cost of Cheap Labor: Occupational Safety & Health in Global Workforce Sustainability” symposium  for business, government and organizations. ASSE President Kathy A. Seabrook, CSP, CMIOSH, EurOSHM, will act as moderator and be joined by experts/leaders from the safety profession, global business community, academia and the media. OSHA Administrator David Michaels is invited to speak to attendees and participate in presentations of the Triangle Award and the inaugural Spirit of Alliance Award, building on a tradition that coincides with Occupational Safety & Health Professionals’ Day.
