ANSI & ASSE Publish New Standards

ASSE and ANSI have released several new standards including those that offer a new approach in identifying chemical hazards and exposures, entering ASSE logo RBGconfined spaces and detailing work zone safety for highway construction.

ANSI/ASSE A10.49, Control of Chemical Health Hazards in Construction and Demolition Operations, offers an approach to identifying chemical hazards and exposures. The standard also offers a framework for evaluating and implementing an appropriate chemical hazard control plan for potential risks.

ANSI/ASSE Z117.1, Safety Requirements for Entering Confined Spacesand ANSI/ASSE A10.43, Confined Spaces in Construction, provide minimum safety requirements to be followed while entering, exiting and working in confined spaces at normal atmospheric pressure.

A revision of ANSI/ASSE A10.47-2009, ANSI/ASSE A10.47-2015, Work Zone Safety for Highway Construction, establishes the minimum requirements for the construction and maintenance of public and private highways and roads to prevent worker injuries and illnesses resulting from working in work zones, to establish safe work practices in highway work zones, and to prevent vehicular crashes in highway work zones.
