Nigeria Chapter PDC Features Global Safety Management Certificate Program

ASSE’s Nigeria Chapter will launch ASSE’s Global Safety Management Certificate program (GSM) in conjunction with the chapter’s fourth professional development conference, Nigeria Safety Summit 2017, in Lagos, Nigeria, March 21-25, 2017. This is a significant development for this region where no ASSE professional development certificates have been available up to now.

ASSE President Tom Cecich, CSP, CIH, was instrumental in creating this certificate program and will conduct the workshop. This offering has already generated great interest and has attracted nearly 40 registrants with potentially up to 60 joining the workshop.

The conference aims to provide quality content and networking opportunities in the North African region. Program topics include best practices in oil and gas, manufacturing and construction industries; interdisciplinary approach to risk management; and HSE compliance for leaders and organizations. Speakers from around the globe representing countries such as Nigeria, the U.K. and the U.S. will present at the conference.

Additionally, ASSE expects to offer the Global Train-the-Trainer program in Nigeria later in 2017. This will be the first such offering in Nigeria as part of ASSE’s efforts to grow the network of trainer providers authorized to deliver ASSE training globally.
