Have you looked at your Professional Safety journal digital edition lately? If so, you may have noticed some changes. Our digital edition provider updated the interface to use HTML5 to be more mobile-friendly. We’ve put together a brief walkthrough to help acquaint members with the new interface.

Navigate to the Digital Edition

First, you can navigate to the Professional Safety digital edition in one of several ways, but the easiest are:

  1. Visit the ASSE home page and log in. From the landing page, look for the “Professional Safety journal” link under the “OSH Info” heading; OR
  2. Type http://www.asse.org/psjournal/ into your favorite browser.

From that page, click on the orange button that reads “View current and past editions.” This will launch the digital edition.

Inside the Digital Edition

If this is your first time using the Professional Safety digital edition interface, we recommend using the built-in tutorial. To access it, click/tap anywhere on the screen to bring up the blue top/bottom menu bars, and click/tap the “more” icon (three dots) on the bottom right corner. Then click/tap “Help” to begin the tutorial.

Often members want to access the archive of past issues. Here’s how:

  1. On the top left, click/tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines).
  2. Choose “Contents view.”
  3. Past issue covers appear vertically on the left side of the screen. Mouse over each to see the issue date, and click/tap any cover (scroll down and tap on a tablet/mobile device) to populate that issue in the center of the screen.
  4. The issue date appears on the top of the center section. To the left of the date header is the page view icon (an open book). Click/tap that icon to visit the digital edition of that issue, which you can page through just like the current digital edition.

Please share with us any feedback about your user experience with the Professional Safety digital edition and we will pass it along to our vendor.
