Safety 2017 Plenary Panelists to Discuss BBS at a Crossroads

Behavior-based safety (BSS) has long been a polarizing topic within the OSH community. Today, promising new approaches, such as human and organizational performance (HOP), are emerging.

The Safety 2017 Plenary Town Hall will discuss “BBS at a Crossroads: Understanding the Human Side of Safety Performance Improvement.” During the town-hall-style session, moderator Tom Krause and panelists Scott Geller and Todd Conklin will explore questions such as, How should OSH and operations leaders be thinking about these approaches? Has BBS run its course? Are we ready for something new? Does HOP remedy the shortcomings of BBS? What are the essential differences between BBS and HOP? Attendees will be able to join in the conversation by posing questions as well.

The Safety 2017 Plenary Town Hall is scheduled for Wednesday, June 21, from 1-2 p.m. in the Mile High Ballroom of the Colorado Convention Center.
