Safety Stand-Down: National Fall Prevention Campaign

FallProtect_889245MediumFalls are the leading cause of construction fatalities and account for one-third of on-the-job injuries and deaths in the industry. In 2012, CPWR, NIOSH and OSHA partnered to launch a national construction fall prevention campaign. Now in its fifth year, the National Campaign to Prevent Falls in Construction is focused on raising awareness among workers and employers about the hazards of falls from ladders, scaffolds and roofs.

The campaign’s major event is the National Safety Stand-Down, May 2-6, 2016. Through this event, OSHA’s goal is to reach 5 million workers—more than half of the construction workers in the country.
