Steven Emerson Named AIChE Fellow

ASSE member Steven D. Emerson, Ph.D., P.E., president of Emerson Technical Analysis LLC , has been named a Fellow of American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). Emerson is a professional member of ASSE’s Coastal Bend Chapter and a member of the Society’s Consultants Practice Specialty.

According to the AIChE, its title of Fellow identifies chemical engineering professionals who have made a meaningful impact on the profession and on the institute. In particular, individuals are named for their significant accomplishments in chemical engineering.

In his role as president of Emerson Technical Analysis, Emerson specializes in the management of risks from hazardous, flammable, energetic or explosive materials. Earlier in his career, he cofounded a steel company after serving in executive positions with Kerr-McGee, Stauffer and Keystone Steel.

Emerson serves on the Technical Advisory Committee of the Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center at Texas A&M University. He earned a Ph.D. from University of Arizona, where he also taught on the engineering faculty.
