Thomas F. Bresnahan Standards Medal Recipient Announced

Jim Lapping, P.E., M.S., CSP, is the recipient of this year’s Thomas F. Bresnahan Standards Medal. Lapping is receiving the medal for his career lifetime standards-related achievements, including his roles with ANSI, his longtime involvement with ANSI/ASSE A10-Safety Requirements for Construction and Demolition Operations, as well as his time as special assistant for construction and engineering for OSHA.

The medal is named in honor of Thomas F. Bresnahan, a highly regarded and respected retired ASSE staff member and ASSE Society Fellow. Bresnahan is recognized as the key individual who reinvigorated the ASSE standards development program and helped position ASSE for future growth.

ASSE members active in the development of voluntary national consensus standards are eligible to receive this award, which is given to one member during ASSE’s annual professional development conference.
