Utilities Practice Specialty Forms New Committees

Utilities_000060545346Sharing information, brainstorming, benchmarking—these are just a few reasons that networking is important to the profession. To meet these needs, ASSE’s Utilities Practice Specialty is forming a series of committees to meet the growing needs of its members.

Four committees will be formed, each opening up new leadership opportunities for members:

  1. Water/Wastewater;
  2. Electric Generation, Transmission and Distribution;
  3. Telecommunications;
  4. Gas Distribution and Storage.

The practice specialty has been working on the infrastructure that these committees will use to network, support each other’s endeavors, comment on regulations and standards through ASSE, and provide the practice specialty with a greater voice.

Learn More About All of the Groups

ASSE practice specialties, branches and common interest groups connect members with a network ready to share knowledge and exchange ideas. To make that even easier, last fall, ASSE launched a series of member portals that provides access to OSH resources, industry news and information about the groups. Each portal features an Ask the Experts section; an Administrator’s Message; a blog where users can read relevant, up-to-date industry news; and a members section where users can find resources and learn how to get involved.

If you are a member of one of ASSE’s groups, click on one of the links below to start exploring your member portal.

Not a member of one of the COPS groups? Use the code SU16 to log into any of the portals to see firsthand what they are all about. To learn more about what these groups have to offer, contact Char Haguewood, ASSE manager, practice specialties, at (847) 768-3436 or chaguewood@asse.org.
