WISE Wins ASSE’s Microlearning Challenge

Last year, ASSE challenged its practice specialties and common interest groups to create learning modules for the Society’s newly launched microlearning initiative. The winner of this competition is the Women in Safety Engineering (WISE) Common Interest Group, which submitted five short learning modules with topics ranging from preparing for inspections to tips for new OSH professionals.

WISE’s video titled “Designing Successful Construction Tailgate Meetings” is one of the winning modules chosen by ASSE.

“WISE members have a tremendous amount of knowledge in diverse industries,” says WISE Assistant Administrator Abby Ferri, CSP. “This initiative was a way to demonstrate our members’ thought leadership.” Ferri also says it was a growth opportunity for WISE members who deliver training. “The challenge was a way to stretch our skills to another platform.”

The modules can be found on the ASSE microlearning web page as well as facts and other information about the initiative.
